Green Coal-Enhancer

The Green Coal-Enhancer (GCE) was conceived and developed to augment and address the need for cleaner and greener coal for power generation. It is a pre-combustion biodegradable coal additive specifically for coal fired power plants across the globe.

The GCE helps to perform 3 main functions:

  • Improves Stability    
  •  Provides substantial savings in operating the furnace as well as improving overall plant efficiency;                                                                                                                              
  • Reduces Coal Consumption
  • Improvement in combustion efficiency which will then result in substantial savings in relation to the reduction of coal being fed to the furnace;
  • Reduces Harmful Wastes  
  •  Decrease in evolution of black smoke, dust, emission of SO2 from the furnace.                                                                                                                  

The Green Coal-Enhancer works to provide the following benefits:

  • Constant Combustion                                                                                                                                       
  • The total burning of carbon in coal during combustion releases better heating value for better power generation.
  • Stabilizes Steam Production
  • The constant heat coming from the furnace generates a constant speed of steam to the turbine. This then helps to reduce the stress on the turbine, allows faster steaming and reduces the consumption of boiling water.
  • Increases Calorific Value                                                                                                                          
  • Although the desired grade of coal is purchased as feedstock for the power plant, not all the coal’s calorific values are the same to maintain a constant burning flame. The GCM will help to bring up coals with low calorific values to a minimum value of 5200 kcal/kg or more so that combustion is stabilized throughout electric generation.
  • Reduces Moisture Content                                                                                                                                
  • The GCE has a hydrating agent to desiccate the coal which will in turn cut down the condensation of water vapor produced during the combustion process. This gives better useful heating values for the plant.
  • Reduced Flue Gas Emissions
  • After the burning of coals, the main pollutants which are emitted to the atmosphere are sulfur dioxide (90%), smoke (96%), dust particles, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. Thus, air pollution is mostly caused by the incomplete combustion of coal.
